Mashallah Karami, the father of Mohammad Mehdi Karami, the executed protester, was sentenced to six years in prison by Branch 2 of the Karaj Revolutionary Court. He was sentenced to five years in prison by Branch 2 of the Karaj Revolutionary Court on the charge of "assembly and collusion with the intention of committing a crime against national security" and on the charge of "propaganda against the regime" to one year in prison. Masha Allah Karami was arrested by the security forces on August 22, 2023. During the arrest of this citizen, the security agents confiscated all the electronic devices and also blocked the bank cards of his family. On October 28, 2023, Mr. Karami was transferred from the detention center of the Intelligence Department to the Karaj Central Penitentiary. He was finally transferred to Ward 15 of this penitentiary after three months of detention in quarantine. It is worth mentioning; Since the arrest of Mr. Karami, his family has been pressured not to inform about him. Also, they face restrictions for making phone calls and their daily traffic. It should be noted that at dawn on Saturday, January 7, 2023, the death sentence of Mohammad Mehdi Karmi, one of the detainees of nationwide protests, was executed. Mohammad Mahdi Karmi was Kurdish and originally from Bijar city in Kurdistan province, but he and his family lived in Karaj.

On the other hand, two months after the arrest of Kamal Lotfi, the father of Reza Lotfi, one of the protesters who was killed in the Women, Life, Freedom protests, is still in custody.
