Congratulations to my good friend and colleague Niyaz for the International Press Freedom Award. CPJ announced: “CPJ is honored to present its 2022 International Press Freedom Award to Iraqi Kurdish journalist Niyaz Abdullah.” I have known Niyaz for almost 15 years, we worked together at Radio Nawa for 10 years, she was not only my colleague, but she was and is my dearest friend. She is a very brave woman, a creative journalist and a great human being. I have learned a lot from him.
