"The death of Ebrahim Raisi does not mean that the case of his crimes is closed"

In connection with the death of Ebrahim Raisi and his accompanying delegation in a helicopter crash, the Iranian Human Rights Organization announced in a statement that "his death does not mean the case of his crimes is closed." In a statement published on Monday, this human rights organization based in Norway expressed the hope that "one day in a competent court, his record will be examined along with the records of other officials of the Islamic Republic and perpetrators of crimes against humanity." This organization, in the issued statement, has described Ebrahim Raisi as "a symbol of judicial immunity for criminals and the institutionalized lack of accountability in the Islamic Republic system". Referring to Raisi's "direct responsibility" in the execution of thousands of political prisoners as one of the four members of the death panel in the summer of 1988, he stated that Ebrahim Raisi in the early 1980s, in the midst of the repression and execution of political opponents, held positions such as the prosecutor of Karaj and Hamadan and the prosecutor of the Revolution. Tehran was responsible for "crimes" whose "dimensions are not yet clear to everyone." The statement of the Iranian Human Rights Organization further emphasizes that Ebrahim Raisi was "responsible for the execution of more than 400 people" during his two-year term as head of the judiciary. https://muhemedemini.home.blog/2024/05/20/the-death-of-ebrahim-raisi-does-not-mean-that-the-case-of-his-crimes-is-closed/
